Vietnam Promotes the Startup Community
The NATEC report, Enhancing Collaboration between Vietnam and the US Innovative Startup Ecosystem, is presented in conjunction with TECHFEST Vietnam.
The Highlights:
- Alongside TECHFEST Vietnam, NATEC will present Enhancing Collaboration between Vietnam and the US Innovative Startup Ecosystem. To foster the startup ecosystem, the national program "Initiative for Startup Ecosystem in Vietnam until 2025" has made some early progress.
- As the official partner of the Startup World Cup, TECHFEST Vietnam will roll out contest activities across the country to compete internationally.
- Two Vietnam participants will participate in the tournament this year: Go Stream won TECHFEST Vietnam 2020, and Otrafy Inc - TECHFEST Vietnam 2021 Winner.
To foster the startup ecosystem, the national program "Initiative for Startup Ecosystem in Vietnam until 2025" (Program 844) has made some early progress.
The Prime Minister approved several new items in 2021 to broaden the activities within the startup ecosystem globally. Since then, several initiatives have been developed to build a Vietnamese overseas network and link the Vietnamese ecosystem with professionals, consultants, and specialists.
After being halted by a pandemic for two years, Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology (NATEC) is gathering pace to advance and forge cooperative connections with partners.
These initiatives will focus on collaborating with the prosperous booming population in the US to increase the capabilities of various actors in the Vietnamese innovation startup ecosystem.
2022 STARTUP COLLABORATORS
The Grand Finale was held last month, and attendees included representatives from the National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development, the Ministry of Science and Technology (NATEC), Department/Industry, award-winning startups, coaches in some potential technology fields, policymakers, and experts on the implementation of initiatives supporting innovative startups.
The Startup World Cup is an annual event put on by Pegasus Tech Venture that brings together companies from all over the world and grows to more than 70 areas and nations with the help of experts and investors from Silicon Valley (US).
As the official partner of the Startup World Cup, TECHFEST Vietnam will roll out contest activities worldwide to compete worldwide. Vietnam's Startup Abivin, the 2018 TECHFEST Vietnam Champion, competed in and won the 2019 Startup World Cup.

By automatically gathering, storing, and using certification data across the food supply chain, Otrafy Inc., the winner of TECHFEST Vietnam 2021, has reduced at least 40% of human labor.
As part of the itinerary, the Mission will travel to and collaborate with various partners in Austin, Texas, Silicon Valley-San Jose, and San Francisco.
TECH EXPERTS FROM VIETNAM IN THE UNITED STATES
Mr. Tri Hoang, the founder of the well-known Silicon Valley startup incubator Ai20X, has more than 40 years of expertise bridging international economic and technological growth.
Republic, a Silicon Valley-based finance startup, is run by Mr. Kenrick Nguyen. Mr. Minh Mac is the founder of Viet Founders, an international network of businesspeople, artists, and professionals.
As mentioned above, the individuals in the profiles have worked with TECHFEST Vietnam for many years as speakers at conferences and high-level policy forums, advisors and trainers for several Vietnamese universities and startup incubators, and connections between US experts, venture capital funds, and incubators.
